The invention introduces a novel lip liner that addresses the common issues faced by traditional lip liners. Unlike conventional products that are prone to smearing and inconsistent wear, this lip liner forms a stain on the user's lips, providing a long-lasting and uniform color. The formulation is designed to be gentle on the sensitive skin of the lips, avoiding the use of harsh components like denatured alcohol, which can cause dryness and irritation.
The lip liner comprises a solvent, a film-forming agent, and one or more colorants. The solvent, making up about 40.4% of the composition by weight, is engineered to evaporate without affecting the moisture of the skin. Polyvinyl alcohol serves as the film-forming agent, present in concentrations ranging from 5% to 20% by weight. This agent creates a uniform film that can be peeled off after drying, leaving behind a color stain on the lips.
To enhance the performance and safety of the lip liner, additional components are included. A color-fixing agent, such as polyisobutene, aids in the dispersion of colorants, while a humectant and moisturizer help maintain skin hydration and form a protective moisture barrier. The formula may also contain skin conditioning agents like diisostearyl malate and antioxidants such as tocopherol to nourish and protect the lips.
Upon application, the lip liner dries within 10 to 15 minutes, forming a film that can be easily peeled off. This innovative approach ensures the color is ingrained into the skin, offering a smudge-free and long-lasting effect. The absence of alcohol denat and the inclusion of moisturizing agents make it suitable for frequent use without compromising skin health.
The manufacturing process involves dissolving the film-forming agent and colorants in the solvent, followed by optional steps such as vacuum defoaming and filtering. The product is then compared to color samples to ensure consistency. This meticulous process ensures a high-quality lip liner that meets the desired standards of performance and safety.
